Atıksu Arıtımı için Pilot Ölçek MBR Sisteminin Optimum İşletimi ve Kontrolü

Project no. 1336 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

Nowadays, one of the most important problems is the decrease of clean water resources. Therefore, it becomes very important to treat domestic and industrial wastewater and reuse them. Membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems used in wastewater treatment are hybrid systems where biological treatment and membrane filtration are combined. In MBR systems problems caused by the hardness of the wastewater lead to clogging of the membranes and this reduces the flux of permeate in particular. Some changes can be made in operating conditions of the MBR system to solve this problem. However, these modifications should be both financially appropriate and do not change the quality of the product water. In this study, it is aimed to improve the working conditions of the MBR system used in wastewater treatment. All tests were carried out in the wastewater treatment plant of İTOB Organized Industrial Zone located in Menderes, İzmir. Some tests were performed using the pilot MBR system in order to minimize the clogging problem in the MBR membranes of ITOB-OSB wastewater treatment plant and to determine the best operational conditions. For pilot tests, Kubota flat-sheet polyethylene membranes were used. In pilot scale MBR tests, different antiscalant dosages, different antiscalant types and different diffuser hole diameters were investigated. The system control was done by the quality analysis of the permeate samples as well as the flux measurement.
