DETERMINATION OF THE MINI TUBER PERFORMANCE OF PELLETED TRUE POTATO SEEDS
Project no. 23273 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2023
Summary

The study was conducted between 2022 and 2024 at the laboratory and greenhouse of the Field Crops Department of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ege University. True potato seeds pelleted with organic-inorganic materials (white clay, spirulina powder, flaxseed powder) were germinated according to ISTA (2007) rules and measured for geometric diameter and sphericity. Control and pelleted true seeds were included in a greenhouse experiment with 5 replicates in a Completely Randomized Design.

In terms of morphological characteristics, plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, and leaf width, the pellet application was found to be successful compared to the control. No difference was found between the pellet and control groups in terms of stolon number. In terms of tuber number, single tuber weight, tuber yield, tuber length, and tuber width, the pellet application was found to be higher than the control application. When evaluating morphological and yield characteristics in the spring and autumn growing periods, the spring growing period was found to be successful in all characteristics examined except leaf length. Promising results were obtained regarding mini tuber yield with pellet application of true potato seeds, and mini tuber yield performance can be evaluated with different pellet applications in future perspective.

Keywords: True potato seed, pellet, coating, greenhouse, mini tuber, yield
