Reintroducing Industrial Hemp to Aegean Region Agriculture

Project no. 20995 · Status: Kapanmış · 2020

Summary

In present study, two-year field experiments were conducted in Bornova eocological conditions in 2019-2020. The aim of this research determined to the effect of different harvesting stage and nitrogen fertilization on hemp yield in terms of seed, fiber and stem. The experiment was arrganged in split block design with three replications. Narli population was used experimental material. The treatments involved in: a) five nitrogen fertilization doses (N0: 0 control, N1: 60, N2: 120, N3: 180, N4: 240 kg ha-1), b) three harvesting stage (before flowering, flowering and at the end of the flowering). The experiment was arrganged in split block design with three replications. Plant height, stem, fiber and seed yield, fiber strength and elongation, microscopic images with fiber fineness and length were evaluated. According to the results, the highest stem yield (1136.2 kg ha-1), fiber yield (309.9 kg ha-1) and seed yield (120.0 kg ha-1) were determined in the 240 kg ha-1 N treatments for both years. When harvesting time was postponed from before flowering to at the end of the flowering agronomic parameters significantly increased. The highest stem and fibre yield was obtained from flowering stage while the plant height was recorded at the end of the flowering. It has been observed that the strength and elongation values increase as from the first harvest to the next harvest. When a dose of 12 kg N per decare was applied, it was determined that fiber strength and length were higher than other doses.
