Summary

In this study, it was investigated that the effects of using pre-starter diet supplemented with or without bile salt, probiotic and enzyme on performance, slaughter characteristics and nutrient digestibility in broiler production. A total of 60 daily broiler chicks were used in the study. The chicks were randomly divided into 3 treatment groups with 20 chicks each. In the first 10 days of the study, the chicks consumed standard starter diet or pre-starter diets supplemented with or without bile salt, probiotic and enzyme, then they were fed with standard grower and finisher diets between days 11-42. For the first five days, the chicks were housed in the floor pens, and then they moved to induvidial metabolism cages. Feed and water were offered ad libitum.

There was no significant difference between the experimental groups in terms of body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio. The slaughter characteristics of the chickens on the 42nd day were also similar. The digestibility of crude fat increased significantly in the group consumed pre-starter diet with bile salt, probiotics and enzymes.
