DETERMINATATION OF PREVALENCE OF Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) AGENTS IN DEMRE DISTRICT OF ANTALYA
Project no. 21477 · Status: Kapanmış · 2019
Summary
In this study , 82 pepper samples were collected in the greenhouse areas in Demre District of Antalya Province in August 2019 (in the fall production season). These samples were collected from Yavu District, Kapaklı District, Çevreli District and Gürses District of Demre District. In the study, the prevalence of Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) factors and serological and moleculer characterization of these factors were performed. While the serological method applied in this study was DAS-ELISA, the moleculer method was RT-PCR. According to the DAS-ELISA method , virus factors were found in 65 (79%) out of 82 samples. The number of samples with only infected with CMV was 10 (12%) and the number of samples with only infected with TSWV was 47 (57%). In 8 samples (10%) both TSWV and CMV were found to have mixed infections. The presence of factors in the positive samples with different absorbance values in the ELISA reader of the samples found to be positive as a result of DAS-ELISA were compared by RT-PCR method and the presence of the factors was confirmed.
