Determination of Algae and some macro invertebratas that settled on cage units at Middle and South Aegean Sea
Project no. 1071 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015
Summary
ABSTRACT This study was conducted between January 2015 to February 2018 at iskandil fish farm cage units in Gülbahçe bay where located in South-west of Izmir Bay. In this study aimed that determination of species diversity of some algae and makro invertebrates which settled different part of cage units (floating tubes, net, ropes). Sampling studies were carried out by scuba and skin divers. Makro invertebrates was collected by scuba divers and fixed %5 formaldehyde solution algae species were recorded underwater camera (Goopro black edition) because of scraping can not be useful. Species and their abundance were identified in labratory studies and monitoring. Conclusion totaly 15 makro invertebrata species were determined. 10 species belongs to bivalvia, 3 species belongs to crustacea and 2 species belongs to echinodermata. Mytilus galloprovincialis and Balanus sp were identified as the most abundant species .Totaly 5 algae species were determined, Ceramium sp belons to Rhodophyta, Ulathrix sp belongs to Ochrophyta, Enteromorpha comprezza, Ulva rigida and Ulva lactuca belongs to Chlorophyta. As a result cage units are artificial habitats in the marine ecosystem that provides habitat for many species.
