Project no. 30795 · Status: Kapanmış · 2023

Summary

Turkey stands out as a country with the highest percentage of women among academics, reaching 45%. This high representation, however, is not evenly distributed across departments, universities, and cities, and is not observed in administrative positions. This study focuses on the distribution of female academics in terms of city, department, university, and positions, using institutional data from universities, the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Representation rates are organized according to these variables, aiming to explain the relationship between the level of development of cities, academic departments, management levels, and the representation of female academics. Additionally, the project aims to examine the distribution of female students in universities and departments by focusing on the variable of the ratio of female university students
