Summary

There are numerous studies on the stability of the connection between the implant and abutments. Implant-abutment connection systems that do not use screws in the connection are frictional locking taper systems. In these systems, the surfaces participating in the connection show a conicity at a certain angle. For our study, a total of sixty-three implant-abutment specimens with a cold welding design with 2 mm, 2,5 mm and 3 mm connection diameters were produced. Before the abutments were placed on the implants, and after they were placed and tapped three, six and twelve times, they were separated from the implants and surface roughness and EDX analyzes were performed on the abutment post surfaces using an environmental scanning electron microscope. The amount of sinking of the abutments after each tapp was measured in the optical measuring device. The analysis of the micro-gaps in the connection areas of the samples after three, six and twelve tapps was made by the environmental scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the amount of micro-gaps in the connection area decreased to levels that do not allow bacterial penetration, the surface roughness of the connection surfaces increased after each tapping, the surface chemical components were stable and there was no significant difference in the amount of sinking of the abutments after three hits.
