DESIGN OF PLATINUM AND TITANIUM NANOPARTICLE BASED CONJUGATES, RADIOLABELING WITH I-125 AND IN VITRO APPLICATIONS

Project no. 201 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015

Summary

Prostate cancer is the most frequent type of cancer in males, with a high incidence of fatal cases. Due to the difficulties of diagnosis and treatment and the deadly cases, multifunctional teranostic nanocomposite designed to target prostate cancer in this PhD thesis. The nanoconjugate formed by conjugation of platinum and titanium nanoparticles with the sphinx compound and radiolabeled with nanoparticle 125I radionuclide to be a radiotracer in vitro applications. Cytotoxicity was performed on LNCaP, PC3 and RWPE-1 cells with inactivated conjugate. ELISA was used to identify interactions with prostate cancer-associated enzymes and to assess antiangiogenic properties. In vitro incorporation assay was used to assess affinity to prostate cells. In vivo experiments (biodistribution and imaging) will be planned according to the in vitro test results obtained. The obtained data will reveal the theranostic potential of the nanoconjugate in multiple directions, leading to further research
