Summary

In scope of this study Symphyandriformes, Rupestres, Scapiftorae, Saxicolae, Tracheliopsis, Dictyocalyx and Platysperma sections which are problematic taxa included in Campanula subgenus Campanula were examined. This revision study was completed with the joint evaluation of findings from macro and micro morphological, molecular and anatomical data. A total of 56 target species and 61 taxa, including subspecies and varieties, were planned under the mentioned sections and at the beginning of the project. As a result of the study, C. choruensis, C. seraglio, C. silifkeensis, C. yaltaikii, C. bluemelii, C. pubicalyx, C. hacerae, C. karakuschensis and C. hakkiarica were evaluated as synonyms in these taxa. C. pinnatifida var. germanicopolitana raised to species level; C. kirikkaleensis, under C. germanicopolitana as subspecies; C. telephioides, under C. conferta as subspecies; C. akgulii, C. trachyphylla as subspecies; C. bornmuelleri, under C. ledebouriana as subspecies; C. fruticulosa, as a variety under C. buseri; C. ovacikensis was evaluated as a variety under C. ptarmicifolia, and the status and combinations of these taxa were changed. C. satense sp. nova, C. leblebicii sp. nova, C. dersimiana sp. nova discovered and described as new species. C. cymbalaria var. papillosa var. nova, C. quercetorum var. densiflora var. nova, and C. myrtifolia var. caerulea var. nova discovered and described as new varieties. With this study C. raddeana was discovered for the first time in Turkey’s borders and given as new record for Flora of Turkey. In addition, the C. yildirimlii was added to the study group, taking into consideration the morphological and molecular relations of the target species. C. isaurica placed into sect. Quinqueloculares from sect. Rupestres becouse of its 5 loculus and 5 stigmatic structure. Molecular studies show that sect. Rupestres and sect. Saxicole from target groups are not natural groups. In addition, lectotypification have been determined for 6 taxa and also a neotype has been determined Images and distribution maps of taxa are given. Consequently, it has been determined that the number of valid taxa which are regarded as target section in Campanula subgen Campanula in Turkey, are 48 species and 60 taxa in total including variety and subspecies.
