Improving the Properties of Industrial Arm Robot Gripper Component Designs with Nano Additive
Project no. 21375 · Status: Kapanmış · 2019
Summary
New advances in advanced material technology have focused on multi-functional structural engineering materials that simultaneously feature many superior features such as high strength, low weight and low cost. In today's technology, many experimental, theoretical and numerical studies are carried out on low cost, light and high strength nano doped designs. Nowadays, by the widespread use of Industry 4.0, which is explained as the fourth generation of the industrial revolution, studies on new generation robot and automation technologies have become widespread. Especially the robots that come across with their use in production lines will be used actively in much more areas of our lives in the forthcoming, thanks to artificial intelligence. In this project, nanoclay, which is in the new generation materials class, will be used in the field of robot technology. For this purpose, in industrial applications, product-semi-product transportation, etc., between lines within the factory. It is aimed to improve the properties of the holding components which are used in applications such as industrial arm robots and which are attached to the end parts by using advanced material technology. By the way, it is aimed to produce lighter and more durable holders compared to holders made from traditional materials. In order to determine the effect of the nanoclay additive with its mechanical properties, the addition of nanoclays at different rates by weight will be made. Bending tests were carried out in ASTM D7264 -15 Standard and the highest strength was obtained with the bending strength of Pure sample 613.96 MPa. Tensile tests were carried out in ASTM D3039-17 Standard and the tensile strength of the sample with 2% clay added was the highest strength sample with 423.36 MPa. In the Elastiste module, Pure sample had the highest value in both tests. Keywords: Robot gripper, composite, nanoclay, mechanical properties.
