Summary

This study examines the architecture and spatial analyses of structures from the Early

Bronze Age I period at İzmir Yassıtepe Mound. The settlement, characterized by a

multi-layered structure, reveals a cycle that includes the buildings' construction, use,

and abandonment phases. In the construction phase of this cycle, the physical elements

of the architecture and building techniques were examined. The most comprehensive

part of the thesis is the use phase, during which archaeological spatial analyses were

applied to the buildings. These analyses consist of a series of evaluations, including

the general architecture of the buildings, architectural floors, and the spatial

distributions of the artefacts contained within the structures in terms of their quality

and quantity. The abandonment phases include interpretations using similar data.

The spatial analyses aim to determine the activity areas and types of the Yassıtepe

settlers, thereby revealing their social structures, particularly their daily lives. This

study will contribute to the understanding of the socio-cultural structure of Western

Anatolia at the beginning of the 3rd millennium BC.
