EFFECT ON THE PROPERTIES OF THE DRONE (APILARNY) DEVELOPMENT, SEXUAL MATURITY AND TESTES CHARACTERISTICS IN PURE SAANEN KIDS

Summary
In this study, the effects of drone bee larvae (Apilarnil) on growth and testosterone hormone levels were investigated in Saanen male kids. A total of 26 head Saanen male kids (13 head controls, 13 head treatment groups) were used as trial material. The trial lasted 60 days. For the control group, water was administered only with 2 cc injector, while the treatment group was given drone bee larvae (apilarnil) orally by plastic syringe obtained from 1.25 ml "good beekeeping practices" for two times per week. The effect of treatment on growth and testosterone hormone levels is statistically insignificant. The increasing level of testosterone hormone in treatment group on 135.days strengthened the hypothesis that the apilarnil could have greater effects in case of more extensive that is application and considering the time of maturity of Saanen male kids. In future studies, the androgenic effects of apilarnil in male kids should be determined by applying different period and doses. In order to demonstrate the androgenic effect of apilarnil in this study, it is necessary to investigate the effects of using apilarnil for growth and performance in male kids and bucks of different ages.
