Experimental investigation of structural effects on biocomposite material which is used of lignin obtained by alkaline pretreatment and high pressure hot water hydrolysis in biocomposite material production
Project no. 20029 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018
Summary
Within the scope of the project, the use of lignin obtained by high pressure hot water hydrolysis under critical conditions (? 22 MPa, ? 374 ° C) and under low temperature alkali pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass was investigated in the construction of composite wind turbine blade material. In the first work package of the project, hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass was carried out using low temperature alkali pretreatment and high pressure hot water hydrolysis. The process parameters in this stage were selected for alkali pretreatment (pretreatment time, NaOH concentration and solid/liquid ratio), and for high pressure hot water hydrolysis (temperature, pressure and flow rate). Within the scope of surface response methodology, Box-Behnken method was optimized and monomers were obtained. The outputs were then evaluated by reducing sugar analysis, a response indicator. In the second work package of the project, cellulose was converted to sugar by enzymatic hydrolysis. In the second work package, the lignin product was analyzed over the remaining rafinate from the biomass, which was studied under optimum conditions with the previous work package. Ethanol production was carried out using the sugar-containing hydrolyzate obtained from the first and second work package. The lignin obtained after the second work package was used in the production of composite materials. Different recipes were prepared and the main material of the composite material to be used in wind turbine blade production was produced. Mechanical tests such as tensile, compression were performed on the obtained composite materials, the mechanical properties of the samples were determined and compared with the blank sample (control).
