Synthesis of A New Gedatolisib Derivative
Project no. 33317 · Status: Kapanmış · 2025
Summary
<p> 1,3,5-triazine, also called s-triazine, is one of the important srating materials widely used in the pharmaceutical chemistry. s-triazine compounds possess significant biological activities, especially antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, antimalarial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antileishmanial properties. Because of their effectiveness against various cancer cells, the triazine ring forms the backbone of some commercially vailable cancer drugs. Altreatamin, approved by FDA in 1990, was the first s-triazine derivative drug used to treat ovarian cancer. Subsequently, various cancer drugs containing the s-triazine skeleton, such as Tretamin, Enasidenib and Gedatolisib, were approved and put into use.</p><p> The aim of the project is to synthesize a new derivative of the drug Gedatolisib (containing s-triazine and morpholine), used in cancer treatment, that contains functional groups capable of enhancing its antitumor activity.</p><p> In the first step, starting from cyanuric chloride, a chlorine group was replaced by a –NH2 group using NH4OH, followed by morpholine ring substitution reactions with the second and third chlorines. In the final step, the target molecule was synthesized in the presence of 2-fluorobenzoic acid and DCC (dicyclohexylcarbodiimide). The new compound was characterized FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR.</p><p></p><p>Key words: Antitumor activity, s-triazine, morpholine, Gedatolisib</p>
