Summary
In this study, it was aimed that determination of silage quality, aerobic stability and in vitro digestibility of haylages obtained by inclusion two different inoculants (homofermentative LAB+enzyme, homofermentative and heterofermentative LAB+enzyme) after the moisture content was reduced to 40-60% of alfalfa fodder plant harvested at different times. For this purpose, the alfalfa fodder plant was harvested at the beginning, middle and last period of flowering, sprayed with inoculants and haylaged. Physical (color, odor, structure) and chemical analyzes (dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude ash (CA), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), acid detergent lignin (ADL), pH, silo acids, aerobic stability, water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC), buffer capacity, ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), microbiological analyzes (lactobacilli, yeast and mold counts) and in vitro true digestibility (DM, OM, CP, NDF, ADF and ADL) were determined in the haylage samples opened on the 60th day of ensiling. The LAB+E inoculant increased the pH, lactic acid (LA) and lactobacilli count of the haylages (P<0.01). Moreover, addition of LAB+E decreased the NDF and ADL contents of the haylages,, increased the relative feed value and improved their aerobic stability (P<0.01), but did not affect the in vitro digestibility of DM, OM, NDF and ADF (P>0.05). As a result, with delayed harvest time HP, LA, relative feed value and nutrient digestibility decreased, NH3-N, NDF, ADF, ADL and cellulose contents increased in alfalfa haylages.
