EGE UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF PHARMACY UPDATING, DEVELOPING AND ADAPTING THE NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE TO THE EDUROAM SYSTEM

Summary
This project aimed to define and meet requirements of the network infrastructure of academic and/or administrative units in our faculty. This project also aimed to establish a wireless network to join EDUROAM. The outdated network infrastructure of Faculty of Pharmacy, Ege University has been modernized as a part of this project. The insufficient main switch has been moved to another level and replaced with new network device in order to provide more network nodes from main node which placed in Faculty of Literature. The existing cable infrastructure will not be changed. Cat 6 network cables will be laid in required places. The use of wireless network is becoming increasingly common due to smartphones, laptops and tablet PCs. Many of university campuses have wide wireless network. Today, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ege University require a modern and efficient wired and wireless network to meet demands of students and academic staff and encourage research and development projects. In this project, we defined requirements to and implement a plan to improve existing wired network and installed new secure, wide coverage wireless network.
