DEVELOPMENT OF FORMULATION FOR PLANT GROWTH PROMOTING RHIZOBACTERIA (PGPR)
Project no. 21642 · Status: Kapanmış · 2020
Summary
Against the harmful effects of excessive use of chemical fertilizers and their kinds on soil, environment and people, the demand for microbial fertilizers, which are in the category of new generation fertilizers, has increased. For this reason, there is a need to develop liquid formulations specific to the strains to be used. In this study, the response surface method (RSM) was used to find the optimum amounts of cell protectants to be used to prepare liquid formulations for Bacillus subtilis EGE-B-36.5 and Pseudomonas chlororaphis 39-d strains. As a result of the data obtained from the RSM results, the cell protectants that can be used to create liquid formulations for both strains and the optimum amounts of these cell protectants were determined. Then, liquid formulations were created for B. subtilis and P. chlororaphis strains by using the most ideal cell protectants, xantham gum as adjuvant and Tween 20 as surfactant. As a result, the change in total viable cell counts in liquid formulations of P. chlororaphis strain containing PVP, xantham gum and Tween 20 at +4 °C and PVP, PEG, glycerol, xanthan gum and Tween 20 at 25°C was statistically significant (p <0.05). The change in total viable cell counts in liquid formulations of B. subtilis strain containing PEG, glycerol, xantham gum and Tween 20 at both temperatures was statistically significant (p <0.05). In acidic formulations created for B. subtilis strain, the pH of the culture medium was adjusted to different pH with various organic acids and the total viable cell counts were followed for twelve months. The change in total viable cell count was statistically significant (p <0.05) according to the data of the twelfth month in the liquid formulation pH adjusted with acetic acid
