EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT SOWING SYSTEMS ON YIELD AND SILAGE PROPERTIES OF MAIZE-SOYBEAN MIXTURE GROWN AS A SECOND CROP

Project no. 985 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

This research study conducted in the experimental areas of Field Crop Department, Ege University in 2016-2017. Maize cultivar (Truva) and soybean cultivar (Yemsoy) grown as second crop under Mediterranean coastal conditions were tested for herbage yield and some silage characteristics. For this aim, traits such as plant height, herbage yield, dry matter yield and silage quality (colour, odor, pH, fleig score) properties were determined. According to the results obtained, when we evaluate based on dry matter yield and some silage quality properties; It is concluded that the applications of pure corn and maize + soybean mix in the same row of second crop were more successful.
