Identification of Secondary Metabolites of Minuartia hirsuta subsp. asiatica

Project no. 32306 · Status: Kapanmış · 2024

Summary

The Caryophyllaceae family comprises genera and species that are widely distributed in various climatic regions. Plants belonging to this family have been reported to contain pharmaceutically promising, notable, and valuable secondary metabolites. Among these secondary metabolites, triterpenes and phenolic compounds represent extensive groups with diverse biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antinociceptive, anticancer, and enzyme inhibitory effects.

Although there are many studies on Caryophyllaceae species, there are still many species to be characterized and screened. In this study, the phenolic composition of the dichloromethane and methanol extracts and the fatty acid profile of the n-hexane extract were determined. All purified compounds were isolated from the methanol extract, and their structures were elucidated using spectroscopic methods, including 1D- and 2D-NMR.
