Microcapsulation of Phase Change Materials (Faz Değiştiren Malzemelerin Mikrokapsülasyonu)

Project no. 21360 · Status: Kapanmış · 2020

Summary

In this thesis study within the scope of the graduation project, the structural properties, usage areas and microencapsulation methods of phase change materials (PCM), which have been widely used recently in heat storage and regulation, have been investigated. Phase-change materials increase energy efficiency by using latent heat energy during phase change. Microencapsulation is one of the most important methods to use the PCM in thermal energy storage PCMs store energy by absorbing and releasing of heat in phase change processing at constant temperature in the form of the latent heat of fusion. In this study, detailed information about different PCMs has been given. Different microencapsulation techniques of phase-change materials (PCM) were investigated. The research has been carried out on the effects of structure of the phase-change materials, selection and application of core-and shell materials, pH value, mixing rate, type and amount of surfactant materials, polymer ratios on microencapsulation method. Many analysis methods have been used to analyze the morphology and structure of microcapsules. Information have been given on FT-IR spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, GC-MS, SEM, SEM-EDX analysis methods used to examine the morphology thermal properties and structure of microcapsulated PCM.
