INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT GROWTH REGULATORS AND NUTRITIONAL ELEMENT APPLICATIONS ON YIELD AND QUALITY PARAMETERS OF ‘DEMİRCİ’ JUJUBE
Project no. 23904 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2022
Summary

This study was conducted on ‘Demirci’ jujube, which is widely cultivated in the Demirci district of Manisa Province, Türkiye. Foliar applications of KNO₃ (0.5, 1, 2%), ZnSO₄ (0.2, 0.4, 0.6%), NAA (20, 40, 60 ppm), and GA₃ (20, 30, 40 ppm) were carried out at two different growth stages. The aim of the research was to determine the effects of these treatments on pomological, chemical, and biochemical properties, as well as on leaf and fruit nutrient contents and yield.

Accordingly, ZnSO₄ applications were the most effective on fruit weight, followed by GA₃ applications. ZnSO₄ applications provided particularly positive contributions to fruit size, vitamin C content, and physical quality. Plant growth regulators demonstrated significant effects on phenolic compounds and antioxidant defense systems. 20 ppm NAA was one of the most successful applications in terms of both sugar content and color parameters, improving quality, particularly in terms of taste and appearance. Leaf nutrient content, particularly ZnSO₄ and KNO₃, had positive effects. On the other hand, 2% KNO₃ application in both years was the most effective method for increasing iron content in jujube fruit. While fluctuations were observed in some elements between years, the overall effects of the treatments were consistently repeated. In general, all traits were ranked lowest in untreated trees.
