Project no. 1080 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

In recent years, developments in nanotechnology and nanoscience and physics, chemistry and biology have been increasing. In general, due to the insufficiency of the electrodes in some applications, it is necessary to produce electrodes having different surfaces with high catalytic activity and selectivity against the analytes. For this purpose, graphene/graphene oxide was synthesized by Hummers and Brodie methods from the spectroscopically pure graphite and their chemical structures were investigated by XPS and morphological structure by SEM. Composite electrodes were prepared by modified graphene/graphene oxide (GO) via electrochemical techniques and modified with Ni/NiO particles and copper (II) hexane cyanoferrate (CuHCF). In addition, Ni/NiO nanoparticle-graphene oxide composite electrode was also prepared, and their morphological, chemical and electrical properties were clarified by SEM, XPS and EIS techniques; respectively. The electrochemical behavior of the Ni/NiO/GO/GC electrode whose surface properties were illuminated were investigated and after the determination of the optimum test conditions, this electrode was used in the selective and sensory determination of routine in the pharmaceutical samples. The electrochemical behavior of adenine and guanine with CuHCF/GO composite electrode was investigated and it was shown that simultaneous selective determinations of both species can be performed under optimum experimental conditions. The amount of adenine and guanine in the calf thymus DNA sample was determined by the composite electrode. In this study, it was also shown that chemical mapping could be applied by XPS using PCA to explore the surface chemistry. The results indicate that multivariate methods can provide important information about chemical mapping after XPS analysis of a defined area. The contribution of each variable is defined/shown for the graphene-based electrode. Finally, this study showed that regions of a sample scanned with XPS were a tool for chemical identification using PCA. As a result; the characterization, electrochemical behaviors and applications of electrochemical sensors were shown by preparing modified metal/metal oxides, or compounds after the morphological and chemical structure of graphene/graphene oxide structures synthesized in laboratory conditions.
