Project no. 25216 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2022

Summary

In this research, it was aimed to determine the nutritional element contents and quality parameters of some medicinal and aromatic plants purchased from herbalists in Diyarbakır city center. Plant samples in the study were taken between August and October 2022. The research material was collected from Mentha pulegium L., Rhus coriaria L., Sideritis spp, Thymus spp, Ocimum basilicum L., Salvia spp, Valeriana officinalis L., Rosmarinus officinalis L., Aloysia citrodora L., Achillea millefolium L., Foeniculum vulgare Mill. A total of 22 medicinal and aromatic items, including Mentha spp, Urtica dioica L., Cassia senna L., Chamomilla recutita L., Lavandula stoechas L., Sorbus domestica L., Anethum graviolens L., Petroselinum crispum L., Laurus nobilis L., Tilia argentea L., Hypericum spp formed plants. Macro and micro elements in plant samples: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, molybdenum; among the heavy metal contents: aluminum, cobalt, nickel, lead, cadmium and chromium were examined. Additionally, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity parameters were determined. It was determined that molybdenum, aluminum, cobalt, nickel and chromium contents were at trace levels in the plant samples. It has also been concluded that the cultivation of these plants, which are of great importance in terms of health and nutrition, should be increased rather than collected from nature, and sales points such as herbalists shouldbe inspected.
