Molecular analysis of Effects of Rhizobacteria on Drought Tolerance of Tomato Plants

Project no. 22622 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2021

Summary

Due to the decrease in water resources around the world, drought stress is becoming more important in the production of plants day by day and causes changes in the physiological functions of plants that have great economic importance. Tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum), which is an important part of agriculture, is one of the plants affected by this drought stress. In terms of plant physiology, drought is a common environmental stress factor that limits growth and causes crop death. It is known that PGPR applications in plants grown in drought conditions increase the tolerance to drought stress by affecting the plant at the morphological, physiological and cellular level. In this work, the seeds of NAZAR F1 and MSC-50 tomato cultivars were covered and grown with B1 (113- Bacillus megaterium) and B2 (377 -Bacillus cereus) bacteria, and samples were taken at the 2nd and 12th hours by applying PEG stress at four different concentrations. The expressions of CAT1, LEA1, LEA4, HSP21, HSP70, CDPK1, ER5, HSFA, OSMLP1, OSMLP2, OSMLP13, SODCL, SOD1, SICDPK, PIP2, XIP genes that respond to drought stress by applying drought stress to the obtained plants were determined by Real-Time PCR method. determined. The results show that B1 (113- Bacillus megaterium) and B2 (377- Bacillus cereus) bacteria are effective PGPR species against drought stress in tomato plants by regulating the expression levels of genes that respond to drought stress.
