CATALYTIC SYNTHESIS OF GLYCEROL CARBONATE OVER DEEP EUTECTIC SOLVENTS
Project no. 20435 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2019
Summary
In this thesis, the preparation, characterization and applicability of basic eutectic solvents as a catalyst in the reaction of glycerol transesterification were investigated. In this study, basic eutectic solvents were prepared by using ethanolamine and diethanolamine as hydrogen bond donor and benzyltrimethylammonium chloride, benzyltriethylammonium chloride and choline chloride as the hydrogen bond acceptor. First, these salts and amines were mixed in certain proportions to prepare basic eutectic solvents. Then, characterization of these eutectic solvents was performed. Density, viscosity, pH and refractive index were measured between 25 oC and 65 oC, while electrical conductivity was measured between 25 oC and 60 oC. In addition, FTIR and TGA-DTG analyzes were performed. Prepared amine-based eutectic solvents were used as catalysts in the transesterification reaction of glycerol with DMC and the catalytic performance of the most catalytically active from both ethanolamine and diethanolamine groups DESs were investigated at different operating parameters.
