THE EFFECTS OF SEED COATING WITH TRICHODERMA SPP. ON FUSARIUM WILT OF CUCUMBER
Project no. 1216 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
The chemical control with Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum, FOC), which causes significant yield losses in cucumber plant, does not given successful results. Therefore, biological control studies and Trichoderma species gain importance. In this thesis study, the effects of two different Trichoderma citrinoviride isolates against FOC were applied to cucumber as seed coating and pre-germination (priming) applications. Seed germination rates were determined after each applications. In germination test of cucumber seeds coated with Trichoderma isolates, the germination rates after priming (CMC) application were found very low. The highest germination was detected on priming (CMC) + polymer coating of P25 isolate application by 84%, followed by the P18 isolate of the same application. As a result of the experiments carried out under climate conditions, the disease development was determined as 18.75% and 57.34% efficiency was observed on priming (CMC) + polymer application with T. citrinoviride P18. In directly seed coating with T. citrinoviride isolates applications, the disease development was determined as 29.17% for both isolates and the lowest efficacy rate was observed with 33.33%. As a result of studies, Trichoderma appears to be effective against Fusarium wilt disease and supports hypotheses in previous studies.
