Optimal Design and Application of Wind-PV-Biogas Autonomous Hybrid Systems
Project no. 585 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
Renewable energy sources have gained importance in recent years due to the significant decrease in fossil fuel reserves on the earth. Developed countries provide great support to research and develop studies for the usage of these resources. According to the research studies, renewable energy systems cost and reliability problems are reduced more and more every day. In this Scientific Research Project; an autonomous prototype hybrid power system is designed that can use wind, photovoltaic and biogas energy sources simultaneously. It is prototype hybrid system, we planned to develop efficient system that can be model for further hybrid renewable energy systems. The dissemination of the hybrid power systems has not been efficiently applied in our country to date due to lack of current knowledge and experience, lack of proper system and location selection and lack of hybrid system technology knowledge for the end users and technical staff. In this project, wind-photovoltaic-biogas autonomous hybrid power system designed and applied for the Gama type house to provide energy demands which is located in the campus area of Ege University Solar Energy Institute. In the Project, a grid-independent hybrid power system including a 3kWp photovoltaic panel, 5kWp wind turbine and 5.5 kW biogas system was installed in the Gama-type home of the Ege University Solar Energy Institute. Besides, system has a battery for storing the energy and one grid independent inverter. The energy generation and consumption of the building were monitored and data’s analysed. The content of the study is crucial for the implementation of similar applications for the other units of Ege University.
