Investigation Of Mechanical and Bio-Corrosion Properties of Mg Matrix Biodegradable Composite Produced by Powder Metallurgy

Project no. 1379 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

In this study, it is aimed to develop Mg based biodegradable implant material by improving the low mechanical and biocorrosion properties of magnesium with biocompatible and biodegradable reinforcement materials like itself. Zinc and TiO2 powders have been used to increase the mechanical properties of magnesium and reduce the rate of biocorrosion. The determined sample mixtures were subjected to mechanical milling at different times and then formed by cold press. Pressed samples were sintered in argon gas medium. In order to determine the mechanical properties of the prepared samples, they were subjected to density, microhardness and compressive strength tests respectively. Immersion test was applied for biocorrosion resistance.
