DETERMINATION OF SEEDING POSSIBILITIES OF VETCH AND BARLEY MIXTURES AT DIFFERENT RATIOS USING SEED DRILL

Project no. 316 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015

Summary

The objective of this study was to determine seeding quality of vetch and barley mixtures at different ratios using a seed drill under the laboratory and the field conditions in terms of flow uniformity, seed distribution uniformity across the rows and in-row seed/plant spacing uniformity of seed mixtures. It was also aimed to reveal differences in the plant emergency, yield and feed quality at different mixture ratios in the mixed seeding conditions using seed drill. The laboratory and field experiments were conducted to determine seeding possibilities of vetch+barley mixtures at different ratios (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100) using combined seed drill and the machine performance was determined at these conditions. The seeding quality parameters such as flow evenness and seed distribution uniformity across the rows were controlled by weighing experiments and in-row seed spacing uniformity was tested by sticky belt tests in the laboratory conditions. The plant emergence, in-row plant spacing uniformity and the evaluations of yield and quality based on the plant emergence were determined in the field conditions. Based on the results, it was found that the combined seed drill could be effectively used for seeding of barley and vetch mixtures at different seed mixture ratios in the laboratory and field conditions. Key words: Mixture ratio, combined seed drill, distribution accuracy, seeding quality
