Özet

With the use of fossil fuels, pollution, global warming, energy demand and sustainability of energy needs have become the focus of research. Global warming, environmental pollution, and energy security problems have begun to emerge with the widespread use of fossil fuels, whose formation lasts for many years and is not a renewable resource. In order to reduce these problems, the development of other energy sources and energy storage technologies is of great importance. In addition to the lack of renewable resources in nature, network-scale energy storage devices are needed to balance and support the load during peak hours of production and consumption. In addition, in order to prevent CO2 emissions from the use of fossil resources, developments have been made in the production of electric vehicles in recent years and the necessity of using energy storage systems in this field has arisen. Improving the cycle life of current energy storage devices is an essential parameter in order to meet the needs of advanced technological applications. In order to eliminate the problems caused by the low specific power and inadequate cycle life of the energy storage devices that are currently in use, researches have been started on the devices with the high power density and long cycle life. The best example of this is the supercapacitors. Supercapacitors are electrochemical capacitors and have a thousand times greater resistance than conventional ones. They are widely used as energy storage devices in renewable energy systems, electric vehicles and power regulators. The project aims to convert biomass, which is the industrial process residue, by using hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) method to a high conductivity carbon-based material to be used in the production of supercapacitor using different activating chemicals. In this study, suitable conditions for converting three different biomass into carbon-based material will be investigated.
