Summary
This study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of topically applied 50% gelatin, 90% gelatin and nitrofurazone dressings in the healing of ischemic wounds in a rat ischemic wound model simulating ischemic wounds. The research was carried out in Ege University Laboratory Animals Application and Research Center between 01.06.2020-01.07.2020. Within the scope of the research, 28 wistar rats with an average weight of 250-350 grams and an average of 8-12 weeks (2-3 months) in Ege University Laboratory Animals Application and Research Center were included. Ischemic wounds were created in the animals included in the study in accordance with the literature. The formed wounds were dressed with 50% gelatin, 90% gelatin and nitrofurazone once a day for 21 days at the same time every day. No procedure was applied to the control group after the wounds were formed. Ischemic wound healing was evaluated at two levels, macroscopic and microscopic. At the end of the study, it was determined that the group that was dressing with 50% gelatin showed better healing than the other groups, according to the average of the wound areas evaluated macroscopically and the histopathological analysis results evaluated microscopically.
