Summary
İzmir Province is third largest city of Turkey and , It is also one of the leading cities in terms of production and consumption of fishery products in Turkey. As it has both marine and inland water potential, fisheries and aquaculture activities as well as which are widely conducted within the province are carried out intensively. Within the scope of this broad perspective, both fisheries and aquaculture activities are occasionally involved in unlawful situations. Within the scope of the project, the study of “İzmir Fisheries Inspection, Control and Criminal Procedures” are mainly carried out in three main title as follows: a) Fisheries inspection activities b) Routine inspections related to fisheries in İzmir Province and c) Fight against illegal fisheries. In this study, fishery inspection, control and criminal procedures that take place within the boundaries of İzmir Province are investigated and the followed method, problems encountered and solution suggestions are presented.
