SYNTHESIS AND CATALITIC APPLICATIONS OF METAL COMPLEXES CONTAINING QUINOLINE

Project no. 1293 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018

Summary

The aim of this study is to investigate the synthesis of imidazolin-2-ylidene metal complexes containing quinoline substituents and to investigate the catalytic activity of these complexes in organic reactions. This thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, basic information about quinolines, their importance, synthesis methods and usage areas are summarized. In the second part, experimental studies were given. In the third part, synthesis, characterization and catalytic properties of synthesized imidazolinium salts and their ruthenium (II) and palladium (II) complexes are shown. In this study, imidazolinium salts (1a', 1a'', 2a''and 2b'') and their ruthenium (II) complexes (Ru1a', Ru1a'', Ru2a'' and Ru2b'') and palladium (Pd2a'') complex was synthesized. The synthesis steps are summarized in scheme 1. The catalytic activities of the synthesized Ru complexes (Ru1a', Ru1a'', Ru2a'' and Ru2b'') in the transfer hydrogenation reaction and the Pd complex (Pd2a'') Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reaction were investigated.
