Summary
The purpose of engineering education should be to train engineers and scientists who are able to do research and study in applied and practical areas at international level. The ability to think creatively and analytically must be gained by engineering education. Innovative teaching activities not only promote student creativity and individual learning, but also develop important cross skills such as team work, communication skills and the promotion of a deep comprehension of scientific methodology in an appealing and more attractive way. Laboratory activities mean a great way to promote students’ participation, engaging and motivating them in interacting with each other while learning the scientific inquiry they need. Experiments certainly allow students to observe events, test hypotheses, and understand the real world. In this study, thermal test systems which are actively used in machine laboratory courses are examined. Maintenance, repair and development of multiple heat exchanger test setup, basic air conditioning test setup, water source heat pump test setup, multi purpose cooling test setup and automotive air conditioning test setup were carried out. In this way, active and efficient use of test devices has been provided.
