RESEARCHERS ON GERMINATION AND EMERGENCE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING TREATMENTS ON TOBACCO SEED
Project no. 1028 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
In this study carried out with the aim of revealing the effects of pre-sowing seed applications on germination and emergence rate of tobacco seeds and germination and emergence time, it was understood that priming application in tobacco seeds gave the best germination rate and emergence rate. Priming was also found to be the best in terms of average germination and emergence time. However, it was understood that priming + pelleting and KNO3 + pelleting applications also gave similar results to priming and can be recommended with the idea of increasing the size of seeds and facilitating planting. It is thought that these applications will be useful for producers who have problems especially in seed germination and emergence stages. As a result of this study, the efficiency of the applications made before the planting in order to accelerate the germination and emergence of seed, to ensure homogeneity and to increase the germination and emergence rate was demonstrated.
