ASSESSING SECONDARY SCHOOLS EFFICIENCIES OF IZMIR BY DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS AND ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS (DEAHP) INTEGRATED METHOD

Project no. 627 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015

Summary

Education is one of the most important element for improvement and development of a nation. For this reason, its extremely important to carry out studies related to educational institutions and contribute to increase the quality of institutions. This study was carried out to assess the efficiencies of the secondary schools in Izmir and to guide inefficient educational institutions to become efficient. Firstly, efficiency measurement was performed by data envelopment analysis method. Instead of assigning equal weights to the input and output variables, the analysis was repeated by assigning weights with the aid of the analytic hierarchy process method. 3 input and 3 output variables were determined in the study and 47 Anatolian High School were analyzed. In Turkey, this study is important since it is the first study to assess the efficiencies of secondary schools with data envelopment analytic hierarchy process (DEAHP) integrated method.
