RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PLANT NUTRIENT CONTENT WITH QUALITY PARAMETERS OF ORIENTAL TYPE TOBACCO

Project no. 998 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

The project was conducted in 2017 in the fields of oriental tobacco growers in Uşak province, Eşme, Sivaslı, Ulubey and Karahallı districts. Tobacco samples leaf samples were taken from 40 producers during the priming times. İzmir Özbaş and Birlik 128 varieties were used as tobacco. In this research some macro and micro elements with quality parameters were investigated. Total nitrogene, phosphor, potassium, calcium, magnesium, natrium, iron, zinc, boron, manganese, copper, chlorine, L* parameter, a* and b* values, crude ash, nicotine and total reducing sugar were analyzed. Total nitrogene in 2rd primings (1.74-3.75 %) was higher than 1st primings (1.29-2.63 %). Phosphorus in 1st primings was found between 0.11-0.34 % and 2nd primings were found 0.13-0.37 %. Calcium and potassium contents were decreased from lower stalk position to upper stalk position. Calcium and potassium in 1st primings were determined in 1.98-6.63 % and 0.74-5.19 % whereas in 2nd primings were found in 1.88-5.94 % and 0.51-3.13 %. The values of magnesium ranged from 0.29-0.68 % in 1st primings, magnesium content changed in between 0.32-0.71 % in 2 nd primings. Natrium, iron, zinc, boron, manganese and copper were measured as 96.1-240.3 mg/kg, 283.8-1609.2 mg/kg, 26.15-78.12 mg/kg, 16.83-51.02 mg/kg, 27.8-115.1 mg/kg, 4.2-20.5 mg/kg, in 1st primings; 96.8-230.6 mg/kg, 202.6-1421.3 mg/kg, 29.48-79.36 mg/kg, 15.91-61.04 mg/kg, 30.7-120.2 mg/kg, 4.5-21.2 mg/kg, in 2 nd primings, respectively. Chloride content in 1st and 2 nd primings was recorded in 0.09-0.41 % and 0.10-0.55 %, respectively. The L * parameter in tobacco leaves was found to be between 48.25-72.30 in the lower hands group and 47.24-70.05 in the upper hands group. The a * value of tobacco leaves in the lower hands group ranged from -4.85 to 5.25, and in the upper hands group ranged from -4.25 to 7.12. The b * value of tobacco leaves in the lower hands group was 28.12-45.45 and 31.83-47.71 in the upper hands group. Crude ash content in tobacco leaves was found to be 12.8-23.1% in the lower hands and 12.2-22.5% in the upper hands. Nicotine results indicated that 2nd primings (0.28-0.86 %) was higher than 1st primings (0.19-0.74 %). Statistically significant correlations were determined between the lower and upper hands of tobacco leaf samples. Significant correlations were found between with the elements, color, crude ash, nicotine and total reducing sugar.
