Project no. 114 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
Ege University Faculty of Medicine (EUFM) is one top three centers in Turkey where the most clinical research studies are conducted. These studies in our faculty are carried out in cooperation with many different organizations and sponsors. In addition to the rapid execution of an intensive application and approval process, monitoring the budget of many clinical trials is extremely difficult without electronic information systems. In this project, it is aimed to develop an online information system for the application and monitoring processes of clinical research studies. As a result of the project, a web-based information management system KAYS (Clinical Research Management System http://kays.ege.edu.tr), which responds to stakeholder needs, complies with national legislation and international guidelines and works in integration with EUFM project management processes, has been developed. In addition, it was ensured that the documents related to the research were uploaded in digital environment, the evaluation process was carried out quickly and transparently, and the research budgets were integrated with the hospital information system and budgetary issues were made properly. Following the introduction of the developed KAYS system, the effectiveness of clinical research application and monitoring processes and the satisfaction levels of all stakeholders utilizing the system were evaluated using quantitative and qualitative methods. In conclusion, it is thought that KAYS is an information management system with a high level of satisfaction for all stakeholders, meeting scientific requirements and in line with contemporary developments, with the EUFM project management processes and PROKOM studies.
