Evaluation of Immunohistochemical Staining Patterns of TRPSI, MGP, GATA3 and SOX10 in Breast Carcinoma Metastases

Project no. 28482 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2023

Summary

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Breast carcinomas; It is classified as luminal A, luminal B, HER2 positive and triple negative breast carcinoma (TNBC). The TNBC group is a group that does not express estrogen, progesterone and HER2, has an aggressive course and has a high potential for metastasis.

When diagnosing breast carcinoma metastasis, we use immunohistochemical markers that support the primary breast origin, as well as clinical and radiological data. Nowadays, GATA3, mammoglobin, GCDFP15 immunohistochemical markers that support breast origin are used. Although GATA3 is the most frequently used among these markers, it is not specific to the breast and can be stained in many tumors such as urothelial carcinoma. In the studies conducted, the GATA3 staining rates of the TNMK group were found to be significantly lower than the luminal and HER2 positive groups. When encountered with TNMK metastasis; The mostly negative staining of hormone receptors and markers supporting breast carcinoma causes diagnostic problems. There is a need to define sensitive and specific immunohistochemical biomarkers that support the breast origin of TNMK.

Recent studies have found that TRPS1 and MGP antibodies defined in the literature show higher staining in the TNMK group and have higher specificity than other biomarkers. There are a limited number of studies evaluating newly identified immunohistochemical markers in breast carcinoma metastases.

In our study, MGP, TRPS1, GATA3, SOX10 were detected in cases diagnosed with breast carcinoma metastasis, especially TNMK metastasis. staining patterns will be evaluated. Approximately 100 cases diagnosed with 'breast carcinoma metastasis' at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pathology between 2006 and 2022 will be included. Staining patterns will be evaluated by applying MGP, TRPS1, GATA3, SOX10 using immunohistochemical method in the archive materials of the tumors of the cases. and we aim to identify specific biomarkers and their combinations.
