A RESEARCH ON YARN SPINNING FOR THERMAL UNDERGARMENTS

Project no. 695 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015

Summary

In this study, yarns were produced in Rieter R-40 open-end rotor machine by using natural fibers in different blend ratios (45/55%, 30/70%, 15/85%, 100%). Then these yarns were knitted as single jersey knitting construction in Terrot SH 130 circular knitting machine. Single jersey fabrics were scoured in order to improve the hydrophilic nature of the yarns. Thermal comfort measurements were carried out by using Alambeta, Permetest and SDL Atlas test devices. The results indicated that, thermal comfort characteristics of the fabrics varied significantly depending on the type of fibers.
