Summary
As an electrochemical sensor, a new Bi / MWCNT-KP electrode was developed in this study. Simultaneous determination of lead and cadmium ions using a modified Bi / MWCNT-KP electrode was performed successfully with differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. For the modified carbon paste electrode, graphite, mineral oil, bismuth nitrate and multi-walled carbon nanotube were prepared by mixing homogeneously in certain proportions. As the analytical parameter, the pH effect of the supporting electrolyte, the accumulation potential, the accumulation time, the amounts of the modifying agents were examined. The surface characterization of this prepared electrode was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Metals accumulated at -0.99 V for 300 seconds were studied with differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry in the range (-1.0 V) - (+ 0.3V). Under optimum conditions, the calibration curve of the Pb (II) and Cd (II) ions (in the range of 1.0x10-9 -5.0x10-6 M) is drawn linearly, and the peak potentials for Pb (II) and Cd (II) ions are respectively observed at -0.525 and -0.777 V. The recovery of the mineral water sample was carried out with the new modified electrode and the results of the mineral water with the developed method were confirmed by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS). As a result, electrochemical methods are always a cheap and fast analytical technique compared to spectroscopic methods
