Studies on Cost Determinations and Improving Cost Effectiveness in Landscape Architecture Applications Within the Frame of Legal Practices

Project no. 20272 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018

Summary

In landscape architecture studies, application of the project to the area in accordance with the designed features is of great importance as well as the importance of the project design process. Various costs are encountered in the process from the design to the end of the application phase. In this research, it has been aimed to create landscape design projects that provide optimum conditions by making evaluations within the scope of laws and regulations within the context of cost effectiveness and cost-performance relationship under today’s conditions. In this context, a landscape design project, which offers 3 different alternatives for structural and plant material proposal which is assumed to be located in the inner parts of the city of Izmir and which is considered as a neighbourhood park, was prepared and quantity surveys, price calculations and approximate cost calculations were made to find the application cost of the projects. The projects were evaluated in terms of cost-performance relationship as well as cost effectiveness, and a different project that provides optimum conditions has been proposed. In conclusion, in order not to cause unqualified projects which are low in cost but also monotonous, lack of quality, far from functionality and aesthetics to be in demand, it was determined that besides cost effectiveness, the cost-performance relationship should also be evaluated and the decision should be made according to the results of these evaluations while preparing landscape design projects.
