THE EFFECT OF ELASTAN RATIO OF FABRIC ON CLOTHING PATTERN DESIGN
Project no. 769 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
In this study, various woven fabrics with elastane content were supplied, which are widely used in the market for blouse production. Especially fabrics with different proportions of elastane has come up for evaluation. Therefore, the fabrics obtained had different elasticity properties. The elasticity ratio of the fabric significantly affects the mold measures in garment pattern making. With this study, it is aimed to determine the changes in the mold dimensions depending on the elasticity ratios and to define them within the framework of certain standards. Elastane containing shirting fabrics were supplied from the market. These fabrics, besides their elastane content, are blends of cotton or synthetic (such as polyester or polyamide). The shirts that are sewn from fabrics with different proportions of elastane were evaluated for their comfort, stance, and dimensional properties presented to the customer. As a result, the effects of elastane fiber usage on the pattern and fabric pulling were evaluated.
