Neonatal Morbidite ve Mortalitenin Azaltılması İçin Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi Altyapısının Yenilenmesi-4
Project no. 19 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015
Summary
Neonatal mortality rate is one of the most important parameters showing the development level of a country. More than half of infant deaths under one year is still seen in the neonatal period in our country. In recent years, improved obstetric and neonatal intensive care management have caused a decline in perinatal and neonatal mortality in the world, and also in our country. In this infrastructure project supported by our university, we aimed to provide necessary intensive care equipment and treatment modalities that are life saving for critically ill newborns. A part of the necessary equipments for close monitorization and advanced treatment of our babies with prematurity, severe cardiac defects requiring operation in the first days of life, and with cerebral, pulmonary and other severe problems, has been provided with the funding of this project. With this advanced technology devices that have been provided to our neonatal intensive care unit, life saving treatments have been given to a great number of newborn infants. The use of these new devices has been contributed significantly to prevention of mortality and long term morbidities. The devices obtained in the year 2108 have been effective in significantly reducing the infant mortality and unit nosocomial infection rates with the help of noninasive monitorization of the infants. In the coming years, our contributions to the newborn lives and to scientific research will continue in an increased pace.
