Project no. 23737 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2022
Summary

In our project, a Centaurea species that has not been studied with nanoparticles before Centaurea urvillei DC., subsp. hayekiana Wagenitz was studied. Characterization processes of Ag and Fe nanoparticles with the water extract prepared from plant such as UV-Vis, FT-IR, SEM (scanning electrome microscope) imaging, EDX (Energy-Disperse X-Ray) analysis, zeta potential and particle charge distribution of our nanoparticles. Antioxidant activity determinations, total phenolic substance and flavonoid amounts, and cytotoxic activity determinations were assayed. TEM (Transmission electron microscopy) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) analysis to detect silver and iron nanoparticle morphology, and FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), Zeta-Potential analyzes to define the characterization of the structures has been made. The cytotoxic activity of the water extract we prepared from our plant and the silver and iron nanoparticle samples prepared was examined on breast and cervical cancer cells. The highest cytotoxic activity was seen in silver nanoparticles in the HELA cervical cancer cell line. In addition, the antioxidant activities of these three samples were examined in vivo using DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC methods, as well as the total phenolic substance and total flavonoid amounts. It has been determined that the highest antioxidant activity was found in silver nanoparticle sample prepared by biological synthesis from the plant Centaurea urvillei subsp. hayekiana.
