Özet
When children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are compared with the general population, long-term survival and survival are low. Although CKD in children with kidney transplantation has improved, the most common cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths. The role of cytokine in the early stages of CVD development is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the role of CKD Treg cells in the development of CVD and to identify the role of cytokine in the early stage of the endothelial injury in the early stages of CKD. Between March 2016 and March 2018, 50 pediatric and 30 healthy children with chronic renal disease were included in the pediatric nephrology clinic of Ege University. Interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin-13 (IL-13), tumor necrosis factor-ß (TGF-ß1) levels (pg / mL) were measured by ELISA. Treg cell (CD4 + CD25 + FoxP3 +) levels were measured with FASCalibur flow cytometry. Carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV), augmentation index (Aix), carotid intima media thickness (cIMT) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) were evaluated for cardiovascular disease markers. In our study, PWV, Aix and IL-8 levels were found to be significantly increased in CKD compared to the control group. We did not observe the association of IL8 with cardiovascular disease risk. IL-8 has been shown to play a role in inflammation in the development of cardiovascular disease in CKD, although there is no correlation between IL-8 levels and the signs of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease. In this case, the use of IL-8 antagonists in therapy can be considered.
