Comparison of some Lamiaceae plants in terms of fatty acid component
Project no. 20532 · Status: Kapanmış · 2019
Summary
In this study, we aimed to assess fatty acid compositions of 6 different plants plants taxa Lamium garganicum L. , L. album L., Salvia syriaca L., S. sclarea L., Phlomis rigida LABILL., Stachys cretica L. subsp. anatolica RECH. FIL. By gas chromatography. The saturated fatty acid (SFA), monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) ratios of studied Lamiaceae plants were calculated. While saturated fatty acid ratio in the samples we examined was between 8.92-16.75%, the ratio of unsaturated fatty acids was found between 71.82-84.57%. The average linoleic acid content was 28.99%, ranging between 44.85% (Lamium album) and 13.42% (Phlomis rigida). The oleic acid concentration averaged 15.85%, ranging from 22.47% (Stachy sclarea) to 7.12% (Stachs cretica). The linolenic acid concentration averaged 29.40%, ranging from 44.62% (Phlomis rigida) to 16.08% (Lamium garganicum). The palmitic acid concentrations among the taxa varied between 1.02% (Salvia syriaca) and 10.01% (Salvia sclarea).
