ENHANCEMENT OF ENERGY RESOLUTION BY USING TIME MEASUREMENT METHOD IN GAMMA SPECTROMETER

Project no. 351 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018

Summary

In this project, which was carried out in Nuclear Physics Department of Physics of our university, the energy resolution values of the spectrometers which were consisted of NaI(Tl) scintillation detector were examined experimentally. In order to enhance the energy resolution value of the spectrometers for the detection and measurement of gamma rays emitted from low activity radioactive sources by using constant fraction time measurement method was investigated in the project. Theoretical procedure was performed using FLUKA Monte Carlo (MC) programme. Gamma ray absorption efficiency and light yield values of different type of scintillation crystals were determined by using this programme.
