Project no. 194 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
Ecological farms are regarded as an important activity in the development of rural areas in our country generating income and increasing the welfare of the local people. In this context, the aim of the study is to determine the expectations and thoughts of those who visit "ecological farms" offering activities for tourism. For this purpose, the literature was first scanned and a questionnaire form to be used in the research was created. With the questionnaire, it was tried to determine the demographic profile as well as the perceptions of the participants towards ecological farms. The questionnaire form was directed to the participants who visited ecological farms in İzmir within the scope of TaTuTa (Agricultural Tourism in Ecological Farms and Voluntary Information and Experience Exchange) project. In the study, the convenience sampling method, which is one of the non-probabilistic sampling method, was used within the scope of quantitative research technique. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that the visitors heard about ecological farms from their friends or social media, visited short-term or daily, had the intention of revisiting and recommending them to others, and generally participated in most of the activities. At this point, it can be stated that ecological farms should use resources in a sustainable way without harming biodiversity and continue their activities as a more responsible tourism product with measures to reduce possible pollution in the environment where the facilities are located.
